HOMEWORK
Homework will be graded by a classmate after the Bell Work around 8:40 and checked in. If a student is tardy or absent then the homework may be turned in the next day. Incomplete work will only be accepted with a note from the child's parent or guardian stating why it is incomplete, in which case it may be completed and turned in the following day.
Math: Math homework is assigned Monday through Thursday. A sample page of the homework is here.
Reading: Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each night. Students will record their reading time in their Reading Calendar. This is a very important activity since a large part of becoming a successful reader is getting in a lot of practice.
Spelling: The spelling list will go home on Monday and the spelling test will be on the following Friday. Students can view the lists and practice the words at Spelling City.
Writing: We are doing cursive handwriting practice each night.
